Since 1981 the Stearns family has produced fine quality, classic style, teddy bears. One of a kind bears that become more appreciated as time goes by and can be handed down from generation to generation. Never more than a small family business Stearnsy Bears have earned a reputation for becoming family heirlooms. For 29 years each Stearnsy teddy bear has been hand-crafted and it is still that way today.

Stearnsy Bears are also known and loved for their for wonderful vintage outfits that speak of a quieter time now past. With a whimsical attitude that speaks to the right person, these bears are medicine for the heart. Proverbs 17:26 tells us that " a merry heart doeth good like a medicine" and we make bears that are good medicine.

Sally Stearns (Mama Bear) started the business by first buying three bears. Then she dressed them in vintage doll clothes and named them after old family members. From this small seed of an idea the family business grew. Soon family members were making the bears, Sally was dressing them and Jim Stearns (papa bear) was selling in what was the family grocery store and also on the road. Soon bears crowded out groceries and there was no looking back.

Today Charles and Vicky Stearns carry on the family tradition.

Our bears may be made from the finest in German and English mohair. But we also make bears from furs and other vintage material.
We also offer custom made bears where you supply what the bear is made from, as well as custom dressed bears in an outfit you supply.

Stearnsy Bears have been featured on Hallmark, Carlton and American Greeting Cards.

So if you would like to make your wife or daughter feel like a little girl for again or help your husband remember what it was like when the back yard was as big as the wild west, if there is still a child in you give a Stearnsy Bear a try.
