I happened onto this picture today. This was one of my favorite orders from the past. I loved the story behind it. The bears are made from one of two antique wool capes a family brought to me. Their outfits are made from the other cape they brought. They were wonderful pieces and like I to think we did justice to what they wanted. The bears represent a grandmother that came to America by boat around the turn of the century from Denmark. She wore both of these capes on that journey. Her given name was Britta Anna; but when she arrived in America, she decided to "Americianize" it and had it changed to Bertha Ann.
