Stearnsy Bear Collectors From Other Countries

As far as we know there are a few Stearnsy Bears in other places in the world besides the United Sates. We have had a few folks from way far out of town come by the shop this year. So we have pictures and a record of their trip to Stotts City. I feel certain that Dad probably sold some bears that went to other countries but we have no record of that. But it is nice to know that Stearnsy Bears appeal to different folks. Billy Darby, a great friend of our from Texas, took 2 Stearnsy Bears with him on a motorcycle tour of Germany. When he stopped in at the Steiff Museum, he talked with the curator and mentioned the Stearnsy Bears that he was traveling with. The curator asked if he could have them on loan to display there for a while. We were thrilled to hear this story and surprised that they even had any idea who we were. That was big time stuff for Stotts City bear makers. I am sad to say our friend Billy was killed earlier this year in a motorcycle accident. We will miss him.

These 2 nice fellows were from Italy. I didn't catch their names. Little Joe and an old softie are on their way back to Italy. Stearnsy Bears don't have to have passports and they are not on any high security lists.
Nicole and her husband (I apologize but can't remember his name) stopped in for a visit and now Old Black Joe is off to live in Lieusant, France. What an adventure! Wish I could take a trip to France. I hope he writes.


This family was from more than one country. The husband was from Germany and his wife was from Mexico. Their little girl spoke 3 languages, She also spoke Teddy Bear. Even though she brought her own bear in with her. They took a nice little set of of 3 Mecki bears back to Germany.

This Stearnsy Church Lady can attend services in New Zealand.
Sargent Preston is dressed in a wonderful 1940s vintage outfit from Yankiboy Playclothes. "Make the children happy!" Sargent Preston lives in Italy now.


 Small World. Here are some nice folks from Italy who stopped in for a visit back on May 19th. They were touring the US using old Route 66. They spoke more English than I did Italian. But people who like Teddy bears can communicate. So now there is a Stearnsy Canadian Mountie living in Italy. You never know.
