Bears made from vintage and antique furs and other old materials.
On these bears we go where the material takes us. Each of the Stearnsy Bears shown are made from great old mink and other fur coats. With these bears as with many of the other bears we make and dress,
it is a matter of being
open to what we find to work with. These bears tend to be some of my favorite bears because you never know how they will turn
out. We would term it, as going where the fur takes us. There are always what we would call nicks and bruises in older furs but
to us that is just character. There are no cookie cutter bears with us. So these bears may not be perfect in the dictionary sense of the word
but they are very best bear we can make.
The size of the coat determines the size of the bears and if there will be one
or more. We have made as many as 4 bears from a full length coat. With a stole or smaller piece we normally only get one bears.
Every Stearns Bear no matter what it is made of a labor of love for us.
The page show what we have for sale today in vintage furs. My wife Vicky and I make each bear we from scratch.
So we are always operating with a limited number of bears for sale. Right now if we have 40 or so bears for sale that would be a pretty fair inventory,
at least for us. We are working as fast as we can but each Stearnsy Bear we make is the best we make and that takes time. Feel free to get in touch with us at
