Custom Bears
Let Us Make A Custom Bear From Your Mink Or Other Fur Coat
Here at Stearnsy Bears we do a fairly wide variety of custom bears.
If you have something that you would like a bear made out of, we can do that. One thing that we do a lot of special work in is vintage furs. We have found that a lot of folks have great old fur coats with no intention of wearing them. Most of these have family history and sentimental value and most hate the thought of getting rid of them. They hang in the closet or are in the cedar chest where it is really hard to enjoy them. We can take care of that for you. There is no one better than Vickie and I at turning fur into family treasure. Bears that will still enjoy family heirloom status in years to come and will be handed done from one generation to the next. While we do more work like this in fur than any other material, we are certainly not limited to that. We have made Stearnsy Bears from other old coats, manmade fabrics and other natural fabrics. That wooly looking sheepskin makes a really cool bear. We have also used old robes, quilts, chenille bread spreads and some things we can't remember. If you have an idea we would be more than happy to talk to you about trying to do it. There will be some materials that we can't make work but with most things we can do memorable, one of a kind, lifetime bears. These are bears we made for Barbara (right) and her friends from three different vintage coats.

A really interesting looking fur that we made into a 22" bear which is the largest size bear we make. Vickie made the custom purse from some of the leftover fur.



Custom Mink Bear

A nice fellow brought us this mink that belonged to his late mother. We made this great bear and then Vickie made the vest from the lining and extra pieces. We reused his mother's monogram on the foot. This coat was big enough that this bear gave birth to a son. Check out The Old Faithful.
