Little Gene Autry. "Back in the saddle again." The spirit of the Old West rides again
or at least when the back yard was like the Old West. When Vicky finished dressing this bear, Gene Autry immediately came to mind. He was
first of the Singing Cowboys. While the history might not have been quite accurate, the lessons learned from those old Cowboy
radio and later TV shows was right on target. In fact, Gene Aurty created the Cowboy Code,
1 The Cowboy must never shoot first, hit a smaller man, or take unfair advantage.
2 He must never go back on his word, or a trust confided in him.
3 He must always tell the truth.
4 He must be gentle with children, the elderly, and animals.
5 He must not advocate or possess racially or religiously intolerant ideas.
6 He must help people in distress.
7 He must be a good worker.
8 He must keep himself clean in thought, speech, action, and personal habits.
9 He must respect women, parents, and his nation's laws.
10 The Cowboy is a patriot.
I think we could use more lessons like this today.
Little Gene is dressed in a wonderful all original cowboy outfit from the Yankiboy Playclothes Company. Yankiboy's motto was, "Make
The Chidren Happy." Little Gene is around 22" tall and made from a classic look synthetic material. He is also wearing a great pair
of vintage cowboy boots. Little Gene Autry, an American Classic.
